
In an interview with FRANCE 24, former Colombian president Iván Duque defended US army strikes in opposition to alleged drug-trafficking boats, rejecting present president Gustavo Petro’s denunciation of the operations as “homicide”. “If the US makes use of its capability to hold out interdiction, I believe it’s lawful,” Duque stated. Claiming that Venezuela is “run by a dictator who’s now the pinnacle of the Cartel de los Soles,” the previous Colombian president acknowledged: “If the US desires to undertake precision operations in opposition to these cartels, I’m in favour of that.”
